Aim
The aim of this training is to equip learners with the knowledge, insight, and practical tools to create and sustain psychologically informed environments (PIEs) across residential care, supported living, and respite settings. The course explores how trauma, attachment, and mental health needs impact behaviour and relationships—and how care environments can be adapted to support emotional wellbeing, safety, and recovery for those we support.
Why Customers would Benefit from the Psychologically Informed Environments Training Course?
This course is essential for any care provider supporting individuals who may have experienced trauma, mental health challenges, or unstable life experiences—particularly within supported living, residential, or transitional care services. The training helps staff understand how psychological and emotional needs shape behaviour and engagement. It promotes reflective, person-centred care by equipping workers to respond with empathy rather than judgement. This approach leads to safer environments, stronger relationships, and better long-term outcomes. The course also supports services in meeting CQC’s expectations under the Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOEs), trauma-informed practice, and the duty of care framework.
